Typically, pink is worn in October for breast cancer awareness. Fast-forwarding to the New Year, February 5th is known as National Wear Red Day, according to the American Heart Association and Go Red for Women. This is a cause to support the awareness of heart disease in women, and February is also Heart Month.

Heart disease and stroke can be known to cause 1 in 3 deaths among women each year, killing approximately one woman every 80 seconds. If you think about that, that can be approximately 45 women every hour, which is a lot. Fortunately, we have the ability to change that! Did you know that 80 percent of cardiac and stroke events can be prevented with education and action? By donating, we can help support educational programs and increase women’s awareness and research to learn more about our heart and how to keep it healthy! So today, we wear Red, and we support awareness and education to keep our hearts healthy!
