Now is a better time than ever to start volunteering!  Orange is making it our mission to help improve the lives of those in our communities through volunteerism, fundraising and random acts of kindness. We have partnered with local non-profit organizations so that we can assist them in reaching their goals. We wanted to share their causes with you in case you want to get involved too!

Pet Alliance- Pet Alliance’s mission is to educate, shelter, place and heal pets and their families with compassionate, responsible care maintained at the highest professional standards. Pet overpopulation is a huge problem, and costs over $2 billion each year to impound, shelter, destroy and dispose of homeless animals.  This number does not include the billions of dollars that is collected through donations each year. By becoming a volunteer, you will help better the lives of sheltered animals, clean and organize veterinary clinics, and support special community events offsite. Give Kids the World– Orange had a team of helpers work for a day at the Give Kids the World Village. Their mission is to fulfill the wishes of all children with life-threatening illnesses and to help their families from around the world to experience a memorable, joyful, cost-free visit to the Central Florida attractions and to enjoy the magic of Give Kids the World Village for as long as there is a need. Over 138,000 children and their families have had their dream vacation at the Village; but with over 27,000 children diagnosed with a life-threatening illness each year, this organization needs your help! Coalition for the Homeless– Their mission is to transform the lives of homeless men, women and children by providing crucial services to end their crisis of homelessness. Did you know that the fastest growing segment of the homeless population is families with children? The Coalition serves nearly 200 children with their families each night. Orange was moved by this cause, so we raised money during a Pie-A-Manager event last month to host a dinner and movie night for the residents at the Center for Women & Families facility in Orlando. A21- For those of you who are unaware, Orlando is one of the largest sex trafficking areas in the nation. To help fight against this modern day slavery, we have partnered with A21, a non-profit organization with a mission to abolish injustice in the 21st century through a comprehensive system achieving preventative measures to help potential victims evade trafficking, victim protection through shelters and aftercare programs, prosecution of violators and strategic partnerships. To learn more about their cause and how to get involved, visit:http://www.a21.org/

Habitat for Humanity- Their vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live.  Since 1976, Habitat for Humanity has helped more than 5 million people with home construction, rehabilitation, repairs and by increasing access to improved shelter through various services. Our team down South will be partnering with them in June to help those in need. To learn more about their cause and how to get involved, visit: http://www.habitat.org/

Don’t have time to volunteer? Take part in random acts of kindness. For example, pay for someone’s lunch or leave them a penny head side up to make their day a little ‘luckier.’ There are many ways to get involved, so start today!
