How can I receive my video?

Orange Legal prides itself on being technologically advanced while still meeting the needs of all of our clients. In order to do this, we offer three unique formats:

DVD

A playable disk designed to go into DVD player or computer with a DVD drive. This is similar to a disk from a movie rental box outside a store.

MPEG

This is a computer-based file that can be embedded into a Powerpoint or trial software, but will not work in a DVD player. We recommend MPEG 4 (.mp4) files because of their smaller size and higher quality, but we can also provide MPEG 2 and MPEG 1 files upon request.

Digital Video Transcript Synchronization (DVT)

Synchronization is the most advanced video format offered by Orange Legal. The syncing process programs the transcript to run simultaneously with the video. Files can then play in trial software such as Trial Director or Sanction, be imported into case management software such as Case Notebook or Summation, or be played using the included viewer software. The viewer also allows you to make new clips, search the transcript for a word or phrase, and has hyperlinked exhibits.

**MPEG and synchronization files can be delivered on a disk or through our digital delivery process.**

Videoconference

What is videoconferencing?

Videoconferencing allows two or more parties to communicate through video and audio transmissions from anywhere in the world.

We offer a service, Orange Connect, that allows our clients to securely connect via videoconferencing from virtually anywhere. Orange Connect will securely connect your deposition from conference room to laptop, laptop to tablet, tablet to conference.

Why use videoconference instead of telephone?

Videoconferencing is a cost-effective tool for your long distance depositions. It eliminates the unnecessary hotel stay, airfare, fuel and transportation fees needed to attend many depositions or meetings. You can stay at your office or in the near vicinity, making your time more productive. If you were to strictly call in via telephone, you’d miss the opportunity to see the whole picture of your witness’s testimony during your conversation.

Do I have to own video conferencing equipment?

No. You can go to an office which has a stable Internet connection and videoconferencing equipment in-house; or you can participate using your laptop, desktop, tablet or smartphone.

What if my location doesn’t have video conferencing?

As long as the location has a strong Internet connection that is accessible to a cloud-based software, you can connect. Connectivity does depend on the location’s Internet bandwidth and how many users are utilizing it at the same time.

An Orange Legal team member will be testing the location’s connectivity the day before the job is scheduled to ensure the job runs smoothly.

What are the benefits of using Orange Connect?

You will have live IT support throughout the testing process, along with the day your call is placed. You also have the ability of sharing screens, so any documents or presentations can be seen by all, not to mention being able to record your session for later viewing when requested.

Other software, like Skype, just don’t measure up! They only allow video to be shared between two parties, no screen-sharing capability. If multiple parties are involved, Skype’s video service does not function. Most importantly, software like Skype are not secure connections.
